Air Fortress - NES

Air Fortress is a hybrid action-adventure shooter video game developed and published by HAL Laboratory for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Its gameplay is divided into two parts: a side-scrolling space shooter and a platforming exploration game. In space shooter mode, players engage enemies in open space, collect energy, and navigate to the massive Air Fortresses. The platforming exploration mode combines puzzle-solving and combat as players traverse through maze-like corridors of the fortress, battling enemies and bosses. The energy collected in space is used mostly in this mode for movements and weapon firing. The player's mission is to destroy these Air Fortresses and save their home planet. The game combines elements of shooting, strategy, exploration, and adventure.
