Assassin's Blade - Blu-ray Action 2008 NR

Also known as 'Butterfly Lovers', 'The Assassin's Blade' is a 2008 Hong Kong film directed by Jingle Ma. This martial arts film re-imagines the Chinese legend of the Butterfly Lovers and is set in a fantasy version of ancient China. The story follows the romance between Zhu Yanzhi (Charlene Choi), who disguises herself as a boy to receive martial arts training, and Liang Zhongshan (Wu Chun). Their love becomes threatened by familial obligations and societal expectations. The film is rated PG-13 and blends action, romance, and period drama.
