The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan. The film sees Bruce Wayne as Batman, coming out of retirement to face the terrorist leader Bane, who has seized control of Gotham's underworld and threatens to destroy the city.
