Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) is a sci-fi action film and the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster 'Independence Day'. Directed by Roland Emmerich, the movie takes place 20 years after the original alien attack. The Earth has recovered using recovered alien technology, but must face a new extraterrestrial threat.
